Rinse the containers once they’re empty - Wash your containers at the earliest possible moment with liquid dish detergent.
Store them with a pinch of salt - Adding a large pinch of salt to the container and make sure to wipe out the bottom and inside of the containers before using them or you’ll encounter a mouthful of salt!
Rinse them with vinegar - Once you’ve done the initial rinse of your containers, fill them with white vinegar and let them sit for at least three minutes. Pour out the vinegar and wash again with soap and water before reusing.
Expose them to direct sunlight - Properly washed container and placing them outside on a sunny day for few hours and the stain will fade or disappear completely. Remember to wash it again after you bring it inside.
Place a piece of charcoal inside the containers - Just place a piece of charcoal inside a properly washed and dried plastic container, and close the lid. Leave it overnight, and the next day you will get an odour-free container.
Remove stains and odours with baking soda - Simply make a thick paste of warm water and baking soda and rub it inside the container. Let it sit for at least one day, then rinse it out thoroughly. Continue until no stains and odour remain.
Let the containers dry completely before closing the lids - Do not close the container immediately after washing. Let it dry completely and then close the lid. This will automatically reduce the chances of bad odour.
